Requesting approval of a resolution authorizing the City of Brighton to enter into a Mini-Grant Agreement with Adams County for grant funding in the amount not to exceed $6,250.00 for the High School Seniors Beautification Project at Water Tower Park; authorizing the City's matching obligation of $5,000.00; and authorizing the City Manager to sign and execute the Agreement.
BACKGROUND
The Parks and Recreation Department, during each spring from 2012 through 2023, has worked with Brighton High School on park beautification projects with their high school seniors. The Seniors have completed eleven beautification projects within the City's Open Space and Parks instead of participating in "Senior Ditch Day".
The total cost for the High School Seniors Beautification Project at Water Tower Park (Project) is $11,250.00. This Adams County Mini-Grant funded project is a combination of both this grant funding and City's matching funds. The Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant funding is $6,250.00 (55.55% of the total) and the City's cash match of $5,000.00 (44.45% of the total). The City has sufficient appropriation budgeted for this project.
