PURPOSE
To provide an update on cases addressing ordinances prohibiting camping.
BACKGROUND
The United States Supreme Court issued a decision overruling a Ninth Circuit decision that impacts the ability of local governments to pass ordinances prohibiting camping in public places. The presentation provides background on the cases and a Denver case involving the taking of property when homeless camps are removed.
