1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pro Tem Edwards called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m.
A. Roll Call
Present: 8 - Mayor Pro Tem Edwards, Councilmember Baca, Councilmember Blackhurst,
Councilmember Humbert, Councilmember Johnston, Councilmember Mills,
Councilmember Pollack, and Councilmember Wallin
Not Present: 1 - Mayor Kreutzer
2. APPROVAL OF REGULAR AGENDA
Motion by Councilmember Blackhurst, seconded by Councilmember Wallin, to approve the Regular Agenda as presented. Motion passed by the following vote:
Aye: 8 - Mayor Pro Tem Edwards, Councilmember Baca, Councilmember Blackhurst,
Councilmember Humbert, Councilmember Johnston, Councilmember Mills,
Councilmember Pollack, and Councilmember Wallin
Absent: 1 - Mayor Kreutzer
3. GENERAL BUSINESS
A. Discuss referring a question to the citizens of the City of Brighton to change the Brighton Charter to allow for a Special Election to fill the position of the Mayor in the event of a vacancy
Jo Pinto, Brighton. Ms. Pinto feels that amending the Charter should take place later, not at this time.
Councilmember Baca stated that in light of the discussions at the previous meeting, this item is a moot point; she would like to hear from those in attendance.
Peter Phibbs, Brighton. Mr. Phibbs appreciates this transparency and would like an official email policy for City Councilmembers to reply to citizens.
R. Wayne Walvoord, Brighton. Mr. Walvoord agrees that this item is a moot point.
Michael Boutwell, Brighton. Mr. Boutwell appreciates the way the Charter is written and the possible need for changes. Mr. Boutwell expressed concern regarding misconduct on social media.
Sam McKinney, Brighton. Mr. McKinney has renewed confidence in City Council and if a decision cannot be reached, the decision should be made by the voters.
Councilmembers Johnston, Baca and Mills discussed the need to review items in the Charter that may need to be changed.
4. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Councilmember Johnston, seconded by Councilmember Humbert, to adjourn at 8:06 p.m. Motion passed by the following vote:

Councilmember Humbert, Councilmember Johnston, Councilmember Mills,
Councilmember Pollack, and Councilmember Wallin
