BACKGROUND
The City of Brighton’s Parks and Recreation Department has received many requests for a new Parks, Open Space, and Trails map, from residents and individuals that are visiting our community. The Department applied through an Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant for development and printing costs to create a new map; and recently received approval for funding the map from Adams County. The grant funding and match from the City will cover the costs of: design and layout (including text), map artwork, printing of 5,000 copies of a 25-½ inch by 36 inch full-color fold-out map, and shipping.
The awarded grant funding from Adams County through an Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant is in the amount of $3,270.00 (50.0% of the total) for the maps. The City’s match for this map project is $3,270.00 (50.0% of the total). (Adams County Open Space “mini-grant” projects must have a minimum municipal match of 40% or greater.) This project is considered a “passive mini-grant” project. The total of the Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant project is $6,540.00.
The City Attorney has reviewed as to form the Grant Agreement and confirms that it is Adams County’s standard agreement and that the terms are reasonable. The attached Resolution allows the City of Brighton, through the City Council to enter into the Agreement with Adams County and to allow the City Manager to sign and execute the Grant Agreement.
