STRATEGIC FOCUS AREA

Supportive, Sustainable Infrastructure

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Formal Bids were requested from qualified Contractors for the I-76 & Bromley Lane Luminaire Underground Rewire Project.

The City of Brighton Public Works department is responsible for luminaires along all highway corridors that are within a municipality. The primary work will consist of replacing underground wiring, including all electrical conduit and accessories. The existing wiring is severely deteriorated and requires significant maintenance, as well as no longer being compliant with current standards.

Three (3) formal bids were received on November 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM.  The bid was opened and read into the record by the Procurement Specialist at a public bid opening. These bids were higher than expected due to covid price escalations so no bids were accepted.

Revised bids were requested on June 29, 2021 and received on July 16, 2021.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project.
