PURPOSE
Requesting City Council's approval for the procurement of 24-008513 Benedict Park Renovation Construction by awarding a contract to Taylor Kohrs, LLC, deemed the most responsive and responsible bidder of the five (5) bids received in response to the published solicitation, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or designee, authority to sign the contract. Per City Code Section 3-8-30(b): "All materials, services, and construction contracts, except as otherwise provided in this Article, with an estimated cost greater than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), shall be awarded through the formal solicitation procedure or the formal RFP process by the City Council. After due notice inviting bids, purchase orders and contracts shall be awarded to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder."

BACKGROUND
Benedict Park is a large 21.83-acre park that is heavily used by the public. The park is located at 1855 E. Southern St. Constructed in the late 1950s, Benedict Park is one of Brighton's oldest and most mature parks. It is a very versatile park comprised of a skate park, splash pad, disc golf course, arboretum, xeric demonstration beds, two playgrounds and two restrooms. It is also used for sports programming. The scope of this project will be to complete construction and amenity upgrades of two (2) new playgrounds, new irrigation installation, skate park expansion, installation of new shelters, new lighting, adding some supplemental landscaping, and adding a walking trail on the east end of the park. Grant money was awarded to the City from Adams County Open Space in the amount of $1,750,000 for this project.
