BACKGROUND
The City Council Policy Regarding the Interview and Appointment Procedures for City Board, Commission and Authority Members was amended in 2022. The Policy addresses the processes for interviewing and appointing applicants to boards, commissions, and authorities. The City Council over time has changed which boards, commissions, and authorities may conduct their own interviews versus City Council conducting such interviews. In 2022, the Policy was amended to allow a committee of two City Council members to conduct the interviews for certain boards and commissions.
The attached draft policy with redlines also removes the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee since it is no longer in the Municipal Code.
