PURPOSE
Adopting a Resolution approving the Renaming of the Youth Sports Complex located at 1100 Voiles Street, Brighton, Colorado, as the "NORM AND JAN PAWLOWSKI PARK - YOUTH SPORTS COMPLEX"

BACKGROUND
City Council has adopted a Resolution establishing a policy for the naming of parks and recreation facilities. The City Clerk has received a petition for the renaming of the Youth Sports Complex located at 1100 Voiles Street. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has reviewed the petition and determined that it has met all the requirements of the Park Naming Policy.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board held a public meeting on October 3, 2018, to solicit additional input on the proposed name. At the meeting, the Board unanimously approved the motion supporting the petition to rename the Youth Sports Complex as the "Norm and Jan Pawlowski Park - Youth Sports Complex."
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are proposed to be available in the 2019 Budget to install a new sign at the Youth Sports Complex. The new sign is estimated to cost $5,000.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution renaming the Youth Sports Complex located at 110 Voiles Street to the "Norm and Jan Pawlowski Park - Youth Sports Complex."
OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
1. Approve the Resolution to rename the Youth Sports Complex to the "Norm and Jan Pawlowski Park - Youth Sports Complex."
2. Refer the Naming Petition back to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for more study.
3. Not approve the Resolution.
