PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a resolution approving the renaming of Eagle View Adult Center to the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center to honor Ms. Corbett for her dedication to the Brighton community.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Sue Corbett has been the Manager of the Eagle View Adult Center since 1989 and is now retiring after 35 years of dedicated service to the City of Brighton and the Brighton community. Ms. Corbett was named the Municipal Hero in 2017 by the Colorado Municipal League. She has served on the board of Meals on Wheels, the Platte Valley Hospital Board, and on the United Bank board, who sponsored the Red Sweater Volunteers. Ms. Corbett has also played a key role in the Help for Homes program that is in its twentieth year this year.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed the petition on April 2, 2025, and recommends approval to the City Council to rename the Eagle View Adult Center to the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The purchase and installation of the new signage is approximately $10,000.00 and will come from the Parks and Recreation capital fund.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approving the resolution to rename the Eagle View Adult Center to the Sue Corbett Active Adult Center to honor Ms. Corbett for her service to the Brighton community.
