PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the Install Conduit, Fiber and Electrical Wiring for Cemetery Light Poles to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or designee, authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded through formal bid procedures by the City Council.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The City of Brighton staff at Elmwood cemetery was looking for a way to increase security at night and on the weekends. It was determined the most unobtrusive, aesthetically pleasing and effective way to provide that would be to add some strategically placed light poles and surveillance cameras throughout the cemetery grounds. In addition to the practical application of the light poles and cameras, Wi-Fi will be added as well to help the cemetery better serve the needs of the families and friends who visit the cemetery grounds. The primary work will consist of boring new conduit underground for the fiber and electrical wiring runs required.

Four (4) formal bids were received on August 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM. The bids were opened and read into the record by the Procurement Specialist at a public bid opening.
