PURPOSE
The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting through a Resolution to amend certain accounts in the Parks and Recreation Capital Fund and appropriate money for expenditure in the amount not to exceed $23,000.00 for the North Elementary-Malcom Park Play Yard project.

BACKGROUND
The Malcom Park-North Elementary Play Yard project (Project #90410) is estimated to be $280,846.00. The Parks and Recreation Department Staff applied for and was awarded Adams County Open Space grant funding for the Park Play Yard design and construction project in the amount of $95,330.00. The Department also applied for and was awarded grant funding from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) in the amount of $100,000.00. The Brighton 27J School District has approved and will provide $37,840.00 in cash match and $16,016.00 as in-kind match. The City of Brighton has previously committed to providing $27,500.00 in a cash match and $3,500.00 as in-kind match. The City cash match funding comes from the 2014 Recreation Capital Project fund (Project #90410).
Recently (November 24, 2014), the City bid the Malcom Park-North Elementary Play Yard project, and the lowest and most appropriate bid came in at $278,428.00.
