PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal solicitation for the City of Brighton, Brighton Park 2 Destination Playground's Project to the most responsive and responsible proposer, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, ". . . . All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the city council."
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The two Destination Playgrounds will replace 24-year old regionally and community significant play structures. They will be totally accessible, themed, and create a fun destination for play.
The larger playground (Main Playground), located adjacent to the shelters and ponds in Brighton Park, will have a farm theme and address features for 2-12 years old. The smaller playground (Midland Playground), located at the southwest corner of Brighton Park adjacent to the Midland Street parking lot, will be geared more for the 5-12 years old age group and will have a theme proposed by the awarded playground company.
These two Destination Playgrounds will benefit all youth, families, and users with a FUN place to play!
Three (3) formal proposals were received on December 11, 2017 at 1100 AM.
