PURPOSE
Requesting City Council's approval of the procurement of the real property acquisition and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or designee, authority to sign the contract. Per City Code Section 3-8-30, "...(b) All materials, services, and construction contracts, except as otherwise provided in this Article, with an estimated cost greater than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), shall be awarded through the formal solicitation procedure or the formal RFP process by the City Council. After due notice inviting bids, purchase orders and contracts shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder."

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The City of Brighton Public Works Department is currently designing the Sable Blvd Corridor and has developed concept design plans. Right-of-way acquisition will exist along the corridor. One parcel (13590 Sable Blvd, Brighton, CO 80601, Parcel #: 0156930003001) located on the southeast corner of 136th and Sable Blvd has been listed for sale on the multiple listing service. The current list price is $690,000 and has been identified as a significant amount of right-of-way needed from this parcel. The total amount with all transaction costs, professional services, and the cost of the property would not exceed $740,000.
The history of Sable Blvd is that it was formerly State Highway 2 owned by the Colorado Department of Transportation until 2011 when it was transferred to the City of Brighton.
