PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval for procurement of 22-007352 2022 Transportation Improvements Project, and to award a contract to A-1 Chipseal, Company, deemed the most responsive and responsible bidder of the one (1) response received from the posted solicitation. Per City Code Section 3-8-90: "[a]ll materials, supplies, equipment, service and construction contracts, except as otherwise provided in this Article, with an estimated cost of greater than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), shall be awarded through the formal bid process or the formal RFP process by the City Council. After due notice inviting bids, purchase orders and contracts shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder."

BACKGROUND
The City of Brighton Public Works Department conducts annual projects for street repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Construction will primarily consist of installing asphalt pavement seal coats ranging from slurry seal to hot chip and including chip seal, subgrade preparations, pavement markings, milling, patching, striping, concrete sidewalk, ADA curb ramps, and all other work associated to complete the project. Additionally, the project consists of enhancing pedestrian and multi-modal infrastructure, improving ADA access, adding bike lane striping and signage, and traffic calming features.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Sufficient appropriation exists for the project.
