Title: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRIGHTON, COLORADO APPROVING THE SOUTHWEST WELD COUNTY TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FORUM AGREEMENT BY AND AMONG THE CITIES OF BRIGHTON, DACONO, LONGMONT, THE TOWNS OF ERIE, FREDERICK, FIRESTONE AND MEAD, AND WELD COUNTY (“AGREEMENT”) TO IMPLEMENT THE SUBREGIONAL FUNDING ALLOCATION PROCESS FOR THE DRCOG TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) AND TO ENSURE ADEQUATE TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SOUTHWEST WELD COUNTY AREA RESIDENTS CURRENTLY AND IN THE FUTURE; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST THERETO.

PURPOSE

Requesting approval of an IGA for the City of Brighton to participate in a Southwest Weld County Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Forum for the review and prioritization of DRCOG funding available to the Southwest Weld County Region.

BACKGROUND

Opportunity exists for the creation of a forum for prioritization of TIP projects to be submitted to DRCOG for funding to include participation by the City of Brighton. Having a voice in the process for selection recommendations for the State Funding through DRCOG is important and essential to our community and our long-term transportation planning.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Requesting Council approval of the IGA authorizing participation for the City of Brighton representation in the Forum.
