PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the Park Lighting Improvements to the most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the Resolution giving the Acting City Manager authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded through formal bid procedures by the City Council.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY
At the October 15, 2019, City Council Meeting the Parks and Recreation Department, through the City's Procurement, submitted a single source bid from Musco Sports Lighting, LLC for outdoor sports lighting of Ken Mitchell Park and Colorado Park. At this meeting, City Council determined that the Parks and Recreation Department, through Procurement, must bid the Park Lighting Improvements project and come back to the December 17, 2019, City Council Meeting for approval.
In the 2020 Approved Budget is another sports lighting bid project for Donelson Park, so the Parks and Recreation Department included it within the Park Lighting Improvements bidding process. Also, the trenching and service connection to the power transformers was not included in the single source bid and has been included in this bidding process.
