PURPOSE

 

An ordinance to temporarily amend certain water, wastewater and storm drainage rates in order to provide relief for customers facing unprecedented financial hardship during the COVID-19 crisis.

BACKGROUND

 

At the special meeting on March 25, City Council directed staff to bring forward for formal consideration and ordinance to temporarily amend utility rates.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

The projected one-time revenue loss as a result of the temporary reduction in utility rates is $670,000

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

Approve the ordinance as written

 

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
