BACKGROUND

The City of Brighton continues to enjoy a long working relationship with HUB International, which serves as our benefits broker. Nathan Wolfe, HUB Vice President, and newly hired Jason Saas, Account Executive, have assisted us over the many years and continue to help us achieve our goal of providing our employees with high-quality and comprehensive benefit packages.

Based on market data, we continue to see healthcare benefits increase. Using this data, we are planning for a medical increase of 9.5%. Delta Dental for dental benefits and VSP for vision care will remain the same in 2027 due to rate guarantees.

In addition to our current benefits, we are excited to announce that we are moving from Aflac accident coverage to Guardian. This will provide employees who elect this voluntary coverage more coverage for less cost.

Will continue Regenexx cellular treatments, Telehealth, Zero Card, and pet insurance programs in 2027, at no additional cost. These programs have been very successful in saving employees time and money and have helped to keep the City’s medical costs down.

The City’s Stop Loss Insurance is a big part of ensuring that we are covered for high claims during the year. We are monitoring our plan and expect to come in low this year due to minimal high claims.
