PURPOSE

Requesting City Council approval of a Change Order #2 and Amendment #2 to contract #20-006839 for the Peoria Street Demolition, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager authority to sign the Change Order and Amendment.  Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-175, all Change Orders in excess of $25,000.00 or 25% of the original contract value shall be approved by the City Council.

 

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

 

During the demolition process additional asbestos containing material ACM) was discovered under several other layers of flooring. The ACM was required to be removed and disposed of in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. This ACM would not have been discoverable prior to removing the top layers of flooring. 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommends approval of Change Order #2 to contract #21-006839 Peoria Street Demolition in order to ensure the demolition of the structures in in compliance with local state and federal regulations.
