PURPOSE
Discuss Mayeda Park and the current lease between the City of Brighton and Union Pacific Railroad.

BACKGROUND

The City of Brighton entered into a lease with the Union Pacific Railroad in 2000 to utilize some railroad right of way to construct Mayeda Park.  The original agreement was from 2000-2019 and since that time it has operated on a yearly rental agreement.  Along with the Mayeda Park portion, the City also maintains another tract of railroad right of way for purposes of mowing and maintaining that right of way.
