PURPOSE
Approval of three ordinances to Lease three parcels of land in Brighton to Lloyd Land for t farming.
BACKGROUND
The City of Brighton owns three parcels of land that are suitable to lease for farming. The staff has negotiated the terms of the proposed leases with Lloyd Land, a local farmer. Mr. Land is dryland farming most of the vacant land in and around Brighton. Previous advertising to solicit bids to farm these parcels had little response. The following is a description of each parcel and the terms of the lease of the parcel. All parcels have an initial 5 year term for the lease with an option to extend for an additional 5 years. Leasing the property for farming will reduce the requirement for the City to mow the weeds on these properties. A map of each parcel is attached.
