PURPOSE
To request a continuation of the public hearing regarding a code amendment to the City of Brighton's Municipal Code, Chapter 17, titled as the, Land Use and Development Code regarding oil and gas wells (Article 17-20-70).  Staff and legal counsel are requesting a continuation to a date certain of January 6, 2015.
BACKGROUND
Staff and legal counsel are requesting the continuation to allow additional review time for the Colorado Oil and Gas Association (COGA) and other stakeholders.  
CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact in continuing the public hearing to January 6, 2015.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff and legal counsel recommends approval of the continuation request.
OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
1.      Continue the public hearing to a date certain of January 6, 2015.
2.      Continue the public hearing to an alternative date (must specify date of hearing in making the motion).
3.      Deny the continuation request and move forward with the public hearing.
