PURPOSE
A Resolution authorizing the City of Brighton to enter into a Grant Agreement with History Colorado (Colorado Historical Society), for grant funding in the amount not to exceed $16,500.00 for the "64 Farmsteads Cultural Resource Survey" project; and authorizing the City Manager to sign and execute the Grant Agreement.
BACKGROUND
The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission, working with the Parks and Recreation Department and Community Development Staff, has applied for and received notice that they were awarded grant funding from History Colorado through a CLG Grant for the "64 Brighton Farmsteads - Cultural Resource Survey" (64 Brighton Farmsteads) project.
The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission (BHPC) presented the Brighton Historic Resources Survey Plan at a City Council Study Session on September 11, 2012. The City Council approved the Survey Plan on October 2, 2012. The BHPC, through the work of Three Gables Preservation, completed the Phase 1 = 11 Historic Resources Surveys last summer (2014); and History Colorado was pleased with the results.
The goal of the Resources Survey Plan is to define and prioritize future historic resource surveys within the growth area of the City of Brighton. This CLG grant project for the 64 Brighton Farmsteads will complete the second 64 surveys, which all happen to be farm properties. T...
