PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the Benedict Park Restroom Remodel to the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, ". . . . All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the city council."
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Formal Bids were requested from qualified Contractors for the Benedict Park Restroom Remodel. The restroom is to be open year-round. The insulation will help with utility costs during the winter months.
Formal bids were received on May 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM. All bids received were opened and read into record by the Procurement & Contracts Supervisor at a public bid opening.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The renovation of the Restroom in Benedict Park is budgeted in the Recreation Capital Fund for 2015. The budget for the project is $180,000. Bids were received for the remodel for the Benedict Park restroom. The low bid from BVB LLC of $188,986.00 was above the budget for the project. The project team met with BVB to value engineer the project. BVB provided a list of take away based on the meeting. Parks and Recreation is recommending the City accept the following deducts from the base bid:
