PURPOSE
An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Brighton, Colorado, granting a perpetual easement to public service company of Colorado over a portion of real property generally located in the southeast quarter of section 34 township 1 north range 66 west of the 6th principal meridian and authorizing the city manager to execute said easement on behalf of the City.
BACKGROUND
The City of Brighton granted an easement to Xcel Energy at the October 16, 2012 City Council meeting for the transmission or distribution, or both, of gas on, over, under, through and across the premises. The current easement encompasses 71,110 square feet (1.632 acres). The requested easement expansion will encompass 3,990 square feet (.092 acres). The Homestead Open Space is located on the north side of Baseline between 48th and 50th Avenues.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council approves the proposed easement expansion with Xcel Energy.
