BACKGROUND
Brighton’s Core Downtown Urban Renewal Area will sunset in 2027, which has prompted the need to identify an alternative funding mechanism dedicated to the ongoing vitality of downtown Brighton. BURA’s Executive Director and staff have been working with P.U.M.A since the firm was hired as its consultant in 2024. Progress is being completed in phases and has included input and participation from various stakeholders and partners. Meetings with Brighton City Council Members is part of the DDA formation plan.
