PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a Contract Amendment for Phase II - Design Services for City of Brighton Municipal Service Center, Project #21-006682, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or Designee, authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the City Council.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
In mid-2019, the City Council directed staff to pursue the construction of a new Municipal Service Center facility that would accommodate Streets Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Parks Maintenance, Utility Maintenance and Infrastructure Engineering and Administration, all of which currently operate in separate facilities and locations. In addition, a Police substation would be located within the facility. The facility is slated to be constructed on 15.54 acres of City-owned land at the northwest corner of Main Street and Denver Street in the City of Brighton. The funding for the new facility has been incorporated into the City's capital budget.
The City solicited bids on January 22, 2021 from qualified contracting firms to complete design services for City of Brighton Municipal Service Center, Project #21-006682. A total of three proposals were received on March 3, 2021, at 3:00pm. All bids received were opened and read into the record by Procurement & Contracts. The proposals were forwarded to the selection committee consisting of various City department staff.
