PURPOSE

Requesting City Council’s approval of the procurement of 23-007949 Colorado Park Tennis Court Replacement by awarding a contract to Hellas Construction, Inc., deemed the most responsive and responsible bidder of the one (1) received as response to the posted solicitation, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or designee, authority to sign the contract.  Per City Code Section 3-8-30, “…(b) All materials, services, and construction contracts, except as otherwise provided in this Article, with an estimated cost greater than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), shall be awarded through the formal solicitation procedure or the formal RFP process by the City Council. After due notice inviting bids, purchase orders and contracts shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.”

BACKGROUND

Colorado Park has asphalt tennis courts that are deteriorated and are borderline unplayable. This project is to remove the existing courts and surrounding fence and install new post tension concrete tennis courts and fence that will last for years to come.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request to issue and to award Hellas Construction, Inc. as the lowest, most responsive and responsible proposer.
