Reference: Adoption of proposed fees and charges to be assessed by the City of Brighton for 2025
To: Mayor Gregory Mills and Members of City Council
Through: Michael P. Martinez, City Manager
Prepared By: Kathryn Mortensen, Budget and Performance Manager
Date Prepared: May 1, 2025
PURPOSE
To have Council amend one section of the proposed fees and charges to be assessed by the City of Brighton for 2025.
BACKGROUND
Each year, alongside the budget, the City Council adopts a fee resolution that sets the fees charged for city services. The 2025 fee resolution was most recently updated and approved in December of 2024. The resolution can be updated throughout the year.
Since the December 2024 update, it was discovered that a fee was mistakenly increased based on a potential increase from a third party in the last update of this resolution for utility impact fees. Staff are correcting the issue in our software to ensure the fee is no longer charged, and this update returns the fee to the correct lower amount on the resolution.
Additional information has also been added to clarify how Single Family Residential Equivalents (SFREs) are calculated, as well as to add maps to show zone areas in the City for South Brighton Infrastructure (SBI) Wastewater Development Fee calculations.
