PURPOSE

Requesting City Council’s approval for the amendment of 21-006990 Founders Plaza Phase II Construction Landscaping by amending the contract to Arrow J Landscape & Design Inc, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or Designee, authority to sign the contract amendment.  Per City Code Section 3-8-17… “All change orders greater than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) or change orders in aggregate greater than twenty-five percent (25%) of the original contract amount shall be approved by the City Council”

BACKGROUND

Change order is to fabricate and install a safety railing along the existing north planter bed adjacent to Bridge Street to help deter/prevent people from climbing on the wall and potentially falling off into oncoming traffic. This was a major concern for a couple of Council members and has been requested by them to help mitigate this potential hazard.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project in Parks Capital 32-17-4500-72150 code 322101

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request to issue an award to Arrow J Landscape & Design Inc as the lowest, most responsive and responsible proposer.
