PURPOSE
To approve a resolution setting the property tax mill levy for 2026 at 6.65 mills.

 

BACKGROUND

The City Council has adopted the 2026 Budget, and the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general operating purposes from property tax revenue is $6,247,287. 

 

The mill levy of 6.65 will be certified to both Adams and Weld Counties and collected as general property taxes in 2026.

 

CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM

Any increase to the mill levy requires a public vote.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Setting a City mill levy provides us with revenue and contributes to a balanced budget.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Approval of the attached 2026 Mill Levy resolution which includes no change to the mill levy.

 

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

Approve, amend, or deny the proposed resolution.
