BACKGROUND
The City Council must adopt a resolution setting forth certain fees and charges for the City of Brighton. The attached resolution outlines the recommended fees and charges to take effect on January 1, 2021. These recommendations were developed through close consultation between the Finance Department, and the departments charging each fee and reflect income necessary for continued levels of service as well as a review of fees and charges implemented by neighboring communities.
There are no recommended fee increases. Instead, changes to the fee resolution reflect clean-up between the fee resolution and code, reductions, or increased flexibility to deal with COVID-19 impacts to operations. Changes to the fee structure include:
• Removal of the annual renewal fee for business licenses,
• Alignment of Occupation Tax Fees with City Code and actual practice,
• Extending the waiver on temporary use permits for businesses to expand outdoors,
• A reduction of the conditional use permit fee for child care home providers, and
• Extending the situations in which Parks and Recreation may utilize promotional pricing.
