PURPOSE
A Resolution authorizing the City of Brighton to submit to Adams County an Active Grant Application requesting grant funding in the amount not to exceed $818,400.00 for the "Aichelman Property - Phase 1 Project" and authorizing the Acting City Manager to sign the grant application.

BACKGROUND
In 2019 the Parks and Recreation Department hired Confluent Design to develop a Master Plan with conceptual drawings of the Aichelman Property. The conceptual drawings included the following that will be the basis for this grant application: Aichelman Property Phase 1 Project - Overall Drawing, Aichelman Property Phase 1 Project - Enlargement Drawing of Parking Lot Area, and Aichelman Property Phase 1 Project - Conceptual Drawing of Phases 1 & 2. This grant funded project is the entrance to the Ken Mitchell Open Space and the proposed future sports field complex.

The project will include grant funding from the Adams County Open Space Active Grant, in-kind labor and material from the City of Brighton, and a cash match from the City. The grant funding and Brighton's cash match will be for:

* construction of entrance road and parking lot using recycled asphalt with hot mix asphalt overlay,
