PURPOSE

To approve a resolution amending certain fees and charges assessed by the City of Brighton Community Development Department for 2020 in response to the recently amended Land Use and Development Code.

BACKGROUND

At a City Council meeting held on December 3, 2019, the City Council adopted a resolution setting forth certain fees and charges for the City of Brighton for 2020. Later during the Council meeting, the City Council adopted an amendment to the Land Use and Development Code which impacted the application procedures and types of applications within the Community Development Department.  Attached is a redlined copy of the Community Development Fees which have been modified to match the newly adopted Land Use and Development Code, and an attached resolution that will allow the amendments to also take effect on January 1, 2020.

CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM

City Council must approve the annual fees and charges for certain City operations through the adoption of an annual fee resolution.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff is recommending approval of the attached amended 2020 Fee Resolution.

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

Approve, amend, or deny the proposed resolution.
