PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the Waterline Construction at Southern Street to the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, ". . . . All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the city council."
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The goal is to construct a 24" PVC potable waterline to replace the existing waterline per City of Brighton standards and specifications within the Southern Street alignment near Tower Road. This waterline relocation is required in order to construct the improvements for the Tower Road and Southern Street Project.
A formal bid was prepared for solicitation and was received on November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM with nine (9) firms submitting a bid for this project. The bids received were opened and read into record by the Procurement & Contracts Manager at a public bid opening.
The firm of Aisa Civil Inc. qualified for the local bidder preference consideration; however, the vendor did not bid per the specifications and is therefore disqualified from further consideration
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding was approved in the 2014 in the budget.
