PURPOSE
Requesting City Council’s approval of the procurement for 22-007351 Manhole Rehabilitation by awarding a contract to Concrete Conservation, LLC, a Company that holds a Master Price Agreement awarded through cooperative purchasing methods, and approving the resolution giving the City Manager, or Designee, authority to sign the contract.  Per City Code Section 3-8-40(f): “[c]ooperative purchasing shall be implemented when feasible and in the best interest of the City and shall be accepted in lieu of City-generated formal bids.”

BACKGROUND

Over the years, the City has been rehabilitating its sewer infrastructure, with manholes as an area of focus. A large number of the City’s manholes are part of the phasing program for rehabilitation. The existing manholes, which are brick, will be lined to prevent infiltration in or out of the manhole. The project with rehab 197 manholes. 509 manholes have been rehabilitated over the last four years. This will be an ongoing maintenance project as infrastructure continues to age.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Sufficient appropriation exists for the project.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the request to issue an award to Concrete Conservation, LLC as the lowest, most responsive, and responsible proposer. Concrete Conservation Inc. bid was $600,000.
