PURPOSE:

 

To approve a Resolution setting the ballot order and certifying the ballot content for the November 5, 2019 Coordinated Mail Ballot Election.

BACKGROUND:

 

Nine (9) nomination petitions were submitted to the Office of the City Clerk by the statutory deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019 and each of the petitions nominated an elector eligible to hold a municipal office. Nine (9) petitioners collected a sufficient number of eligible signatures required to nominate each candidate.

 

On August 5, 2019, a recall petition was filed with the City Clerk’s Office and on August 12, 2019, the petition was determined to be sufficient.

 

On Tuesday, August 27, 2019 the names of candidates for Councilmember for each ward were randomly selected by lot in the presence of at least one of the candidates for City Council to determine the order of their names on the ballot.
