BACKGROUND

The City of Brighton continues to enjoy a long working relationship with HUB International, which serves as our benefits broker. Nathan Wolfe, HUB Vice President, and Kelsee Heller, Account Executive, have assisted us over the many years and continue to help us achieve our goal of providing our employees with high-quality and comprehensive benefit packages.

In 2019, the City moved to UMR, with United Healthcare as the provider, and RX Benefits for medical and prescription cost control. This has proven to be cost-effective for the City as well as for the consumer, so we are pleased to report we will continue with UMR and Rx Benefits. For 2024, the employer contributions will increase by 6.7%, with no changes to the employee contributions.

In addition to our medical coverage, Delta Dental care costs will increase by 3.7% this year, but VSP vision will remain the same in 2024. We will continue our coverage with Regenexx cellular treatments and the Zero Card program in 2024. Regenexx will continue with no increase to the administrative costs of our program, while Zero Card is planned to have a 5% increase to the administrative cost for claims.

We are excited to add hospital indemnity and pet Insurance to our voluntary benefits in 2024.

The Telehealth program has successfully saved employees time and money and keeps the City’s medical costs down. The cost for this benefit will remain the same in 2024.
