PURPOSE

To discuss the proposed holiday schedule for 2023. 

 

BACKGROUND

 

A review of the upcoming paid holiday schedule for 2023.

 

The City Manager is authorized to outline the procedures for utilization of the paid holiday and sick leave schedule in accordance with the City’s Employee Handbook.

 

The twelve (12) days to be officially observed by the City in 2023 are:

New Year’s Day                                                               January 2

                                          Martin Luther King Jr. Day                                          January 16

                                          President’s Day                                                               February 20

                                          Memorial Day                                                                                    May 29

                                          Juneteenth                                                                                    June 19

                                          Independence Day                                                               July 4

                                          Labor Day                                                                                    September 4

                                          Veterans Day                                                                                    November 10

                                          Thanksgiving Day                                                               November 23

                                          Day After Thanksgiving                                          November 24

                                          Christmas Eve Day                                                               December 25

                                          Christmas Day                                                               December 26

 

Eligible full-time employees shall continue to receive 80 hours of paid sick leave annually, which is not entitled to monetary reimbursement.
