PURPOSE
To finalize City Attorney, Alicia Calderón’s 2026 performance evaluation and amend the City Attorney’s Employment Contract to update evaluation procedures.

 

BACKGROUND

City Attorney Alicia Calderón was appointed by the City Council on August 23, 2021. The City Council is tasked to conduct an annual performance evaluation.  

 

The City Council decided to conduct a City Council only evaluation process to evaluate the City Attorney’s performance from August 2025 through August 2026. The performance evaluation process was managed by the Human Resources Director, Kevin Young.

 

Results from the annual evaluation process were summarized and presented to City Council during executive council on July 21, 2026, by Director Young. 

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff finds the process implemented by City Council was followed and is ready for Council vote.

 

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

1.                     Approve the resolution to amend the City Attorney’s Employment Contract.

2.                     Deny the resolution to amend the City Attorney’s Employee Contract.

3.                     Provide further direction to staff.
