PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval contract award for project #21-006726 Recreation Center Ponds Design to the most responsive and responsible proposer, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Pursuant to Municipal Code Section 3-8-90, all bids and proposals in excess of $50,000.00 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the City Council.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The City owns and operates two ponds located at the Rec Center on 11th Ave. These ponds serve two different needs in the City. The South pond is currently lined, however, the City does not have record of the type of liner or where around the pond it is located. This south pond holds augmentation water from the City for irrigation use. The North pond is utilized by the Parks Department as a fishing pond.
The goal of this project would be to satisfy three needs for the City. The first being the need for safe movement of stormwater around or through the facility. The second being the need to line the north pond. The third would be the need to re-pipe the complex to ensure safe and legal moving and storage of water. A new pump station will be required at the north pond to ensure the project meets the needs of the City.
The City requested a proposal from our on-call utilities and transportation engineering firm, Enginuity Engineering Solutions, for the design of this project. The design will include:
