PURPOSE
To approve a resolution setting the property tax mill levy for 2026 at 0.00 mills.

 

BACKGROUND

The South Brighton GID Board of Directors have adopted the 2026 Budget, and the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general operating purposes from property tax revenue is $0.00. 

 

The mill levy of 0.00 will be certified to Adams County and no general property taxes will be collected in 2026.

 

CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM

An increase to the mill levy may occur when infrastructure is required.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The South Brighton GID budget will be balanced for 2026 if the $0.00 property tax revenue is used.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Staff is recommending no change to the mill levy.

 

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION

Approve, amend, or deny the proposed resolution.
