PURPOSE

To consider the purchase of real property located at 133 S. 27^th St. for Police Department expansion purposes.

BACKGROUND

As the City has grown, the number of new sworn and unsworn staff members has steadily increased within the Brighton Police Department. Over the past three years, staff has been looking at various option to provide Brighton PD additional room to grow and expand operations within their current location and throughout the City. It has been determined that a new, larger headquarters is not financially feasible at this time and staff believes the purchase of 133 S. 27^th will give Brighton PD room to grow and expand operations for the foreseeable future without the significant cost of a new building for larger police headquarters.

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
