PURPOSE
Requesting City Council approval of a formal bid for the 2015 Crack Seal ~ Cape Seal ~ Slurry Seal ~ Concrete Replacement Project to the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder, and approving the resolution giving the Mayor authority to sign the contract. Municipal Code Section 3.08.090, ". . . . All bids and proposals in excess of $50,000 shall be awarded through formal written procedures by the city council."
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
Formal Bids were requested from qualified Contractors for the 2015 Crack Seal ~ Cape Seal ~ Slurry Seal ~ Concrete Replacement Project. The project consists of 60 tons of crack sealant, 20 tons of Mastic crack sealant (Deery or approved equal), 130,000 square yards of Type II slurry seal, 50,000 square yards of chip seal, and 1,500 square yards of 7" patching. All chip seal and slurry seal streets will be patched and crack sealed prior to placement of seals.
Formal bids were received on April 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM. All bids received were opened and read into record by the Procurement & Contracts Supervisor at a public bid opening.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding was approved in the 2015 budget for the Crack Seal ~ Cape Seal ~ Slurry Seal ~ Concrete Replacement Project. The bid from A-Chipseal Company is within the budgeted amount.
