PURPOSE
To consider a resolution reappointing the City of Brighton Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager, Mr. Kim Schoen, as the City of Brighton representative on the Board of Directors of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (Metro) for a two-year term ending June 30, 2019.

BACKGROUND

As a member agency, Brighton will have one seat on the Metro Board of Directors, and the appointment of such board member must be made by the Mayor and City Council. 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no financial impact related to this proposed resolution.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Mr. Schoen is familiar with Metro policies and City of Brighton agreements for service with Metro.  He also is extremely knowledgeable in wastewater treatment processes and technical components related to Metro’s mission of wastewater treatment and is eligible to represent the City of Brighton on the Metro Board.  Kim has been serving as the City of Brighton’s representative on the Metro Board since 2015.

Staff recommends approval of the Resolution reappointing Mr. Schoen to the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District’s Board of Directors.
