PURPOSE
A Resolution authorizing the City of Brighton to submit to Adams County Open Space, an Open Space Mini-Grant Application requesting grant funding in the amount not to exceed $3,270.00 for the "Brighton Parks, Open Space, and Trails Map"; and to authorize the Acting City Manager to sign the Grant Application.
BACKGROUND
The Parks and Recreation Department, the City Hall Front Desk, the Brighton Recreation Center, the Eagle View Adult Center, and City staff working in the field have all had many requests for a fold-out map from Brighton residents. These requests are for a map that shows all of the City's parks, open space, and trails. The residents of Brighton are active in the outdoors and the production of this map will allow individuals to better use the outdoor amenities that are within the City.
The total amount of the proposed Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant application is $6,540.00. The City's match for this Project is $3,270.00 (50% of the total) for the design, artwork, text, printing 5,000 copies of a 251/2 inch by 36 inch fold-out map, and shipping of the maps to the City of Brighton. This $3,270.00 (50% of the total) Adams County Open Space Mini-Grant funding will be used to produce, ship and purchase the maps.
