PURPOSE:
To adopt the 2018 Operating and Capital Budget for all funds, and appropriate the money for expenditure, per City Charter and State Statute.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY:
Staff has prepared the 2018 Proposed Budget and presented to City Council on September 26, 2017. A budget meeting was held September 29, 2017, where City Staff and City Council discussed the 2018 Proposed Budget. At the October 10, 2017 Study Session, additional discussion will be held regarding the proposed General Fund budget reductions. A Public Hearing will be held, per City Charter and State Statute, on October 17, 2017. The Resolution adopting the 2018 Budget and appropriating the money for expenditure is attached.
CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM:
Article X of the City of Brighton Charter, and Title 29, Article 1 of the Colorado Revised Statutes.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The total budget being proposed for 2018 is $99,047,975.
OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL’S CONSIDERATION:
• Approve the proposed 2018 Budget
• Amend the proposed 2018 Budget
• Deny the proposed 2018 Budget
