PURPOSE:

To approve resolution setting the property tax mill levy for 2017 at 0.00 mills.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY:

The Commissioners have adopted the 2018 Budget, and the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general operating purposes from property tax revenue is $0.00. 

Preliminary assessed value by the Adams County Assessor is $324,940

The mill levy of 0.00 will be certified to Adams County and no general property taxes will be collected in 2018.

CRITERIA BY WHICH COUNCIL MUST CONSIDER THE ITEM:

An increase to the mill levy may occur when infrastructure is required.

BUDGET IMPACT:

The South Brighton G.I.D. budget will be balanced if the $0.00 property tax revenue is used.

OPTIONS FOR COUNCIL’S CONSIDERATION:

Staff is recommending no change to the mill levy.
