PURPOSE
Per the adoption of the Brighton Emergency Operations Plan, to provide, at least annually, City Council with a report summarizing the Office of Emergency Management’s (OEM) activities over 2017 and to outline goals for 2018
BACKGROUND
The Office of Emergency Management is engaged in local, regional and statewide activities to most effectively prepare for the coordination of emergency /disaster support functions to serve the City of Brighton and its residents before, during and after a disaster or large scale emergency. These activities can generally be outlined under the areas of:
1. Emergency Plans/ Policies/ Procedures
2. Public Education/ Community Awareness
3. Training and Exercises
4. Professional/ Regional Contributions
5. Grant Management
6. Incident Response
