A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRIGHTON, COLORADO ACKNOWLEDGING THE SETTING OF 2018 SEWER PLANT INVESTMENT FEES AND SEWER USER RATES BY THE LOCHBUIE SEWER BOARD TO BE ASSESSED AND REMITTED TO LOCHBUIE BY BRIGHTON CONSISTENT WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FIRST AMENDED AND RESTATED BEEBE DRAW WASTEWATER SERVICE AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO ON AUGUST 14, 2009 BY AND BETWEEN THE TOWN OF LOCHBUIE, CITY OF BRIGHTON AND SOUTH BEEBE DRAW METROPOLITAN DISTRICT; ACKNOWLEDGING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SUCH REVISIONS; AND SETTING FORTH OTHER DETAILS RELATED THERETO.

PURPOSE:
To acknowledge the Lochbuie Sewer Board’s approved increase in sewer rates and fees for 2018. This item is presented to council purely for their awareness and consent based on Counsel’s recommendation. There will be no specifically corresponding rate adjustment for existing City of Brighton Citizens.
BACKGROUND/HISTORY:
The 2018 rate increases were adopted by the Lochbuie Sewer Board at their November 30, 2017, meeting, and will become effective, January 1, 2018.
The approved 2018 PIF fee increases will not affect existing customers, as connection fees are paid for new connections only. The approved rate increase is 10.02%, which can be accommodated under the recently-approved 2018 Utilities budget.
BUDGET IMPACT:
